Entering the New Year with Fashion Forward Tips and Guides
Hope this is not too late but as the new year begins, these famous words come to mind. You may remember, I have an article about why New Year resolutions play a big role in people -- Click here for the whole article.
While some focus on personal development and/or career aspirations, others have their sights set on improving their fashion game. If you're up to level up your style, here are a few resolutions to consider:
Invest in proper fitting clothes: There's a huge of a difference when your clothes are actually tailored to the exact measurements of your body. We all had that time when some outfits are constantly being pulled and adjusted during an important event or even ordinary coffee date. This may either mean getting clothes tailored or splurging on a higher-end item that fits you perfectly. It's worth every penny.
Experiment with new styles: Are you that person who wears the same bottoms and only changes plain tops? It might be a good time to step out of your comfort zone. Whether it's incorporating a solid color to a plad pattern, or trying a new silhouette, this can be can be both fun and rewarding.
Organize your closet: It's definitely a nightmare for gals to look for an outfit they can't find under pile of clothes. So take time to declutter and organize your wardrobe -- making it time efficient and more time to match outfits.
Get rid of unworn clothes: Everybody have those pieces that already got buried and never got the chance to wear, but hold onto "just in case." If a year has past, it's time to let it go. Sell it online (if you have patience) or just donate it.
Learn to mix and match: This is not new to your ears but just a reminder. Instead of buying entire outfits, try matching pieces you already own to those unusal pieces create new looks. This allows you to bring out your creative side and at the same time, save money.
Invest in timeless pieces: Fad fashion are fine but think of items that will stand time. It's a good idea to focus on items that never go out of style; classic pieces like a well-fitting blazer, a little black dress, or a pair of neutral pumps. These can be dressed up or down and will never go out of fashion.
Build a capsule wardrobe:It is a wardrobe collection of high-quality, versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched to other basic items in creating a look. By building a capsule wardrobe, fewer items may be enough but more options for creating outfits. Morning dress-up will be easier and again it'll save you money longterm.
Accessorize: Adding a few well-chosen accessories can elevate any outfit and help you stand out. Experiment with jewelry, belts, watces, scarves, hats, and bags to see what works for in every occasion.
This will surely suffice in building a cohesive wardrobe that makes you look and feel your best. Enjoy styling and strut it!
